Meet our new collaborator, Gunjan Thakur, a blogger! Her love for food and travel ever since childhood has brought her to the point of going to new places and trying some new, unique and tasty foods. She would see her mother and Nani cook delicious meals and would be inspired by them. She would dream of becoming a great chef when she would grow up, but due to the circumstances she ended up choosing a different career. However, her passion for cooking, travelling, trying out new foods, and making her own dishes, has forced her to open her blogging account on Instagram (@dejavu_31). She has travelled across Middle East, UK and US!
Gunjan, by career is a senior lead consultant in healthcare, in a Belgian company. Trying to make space between work and time for herself, Gunjan follows a strict routine. Starting the day early, from 5:30, she has the habit of making time for ample reading and listening to music to de-stress herself. “The highlight of the day is feeding the strays in my neighbourhood”. Due to the chronic anxiety that Gunjan has been facing over a decade, she does yoga and meditation to calm her nerves and feel better. Her favourite yoga pose is Surya Namaskar. Her favourite quote is ‘carpe diem’.
When asked about her perspective of food in life, she says that “food in my opinion is on the same level as water or air.” Her love for food and passion for trying out new dishes has kept her active during the lockdown situation. Gunjan is an Indian-food-lover. She, being from Bihar in India, tries to replicate the ones she had in India, and also from other countries. Along with cooking, baking and travelling, her hobbies are painting, reading, swimming, and skating. She would also do daily house chores and cleaning along with the full-time job she has from Monday to Friday.
dejavu_31 would like to tell the readers that they should “never stop exploring” and that “every food experience is a lesson”.
