Booklovers like Afra are people who are reading basically all the time and dream to become writers in the coming future. Afra Khan has a bookstagram account where she plans to start writing blogs, soon! The account was initially a blogging page but her love for books and her posts made it turn into a bookstagram page. She claims that “it was the catch to jot down things about people to know about me, that I would never be able to say out loud”.
As far as Afra is able to recollect, she started her instagram page (@radio.readerr) at the beginning of May or late April this year. She is grateful that she got to meet “this incredible bookstagram/blogging community” in Bangladesh. Another thing that Afra will be proud of is, before Afra was on instagram, she got published in Dhaka Tribune last year which was one of the top Sehri Tale with the most likes. “I will always remember this very small, sure, yet wonderful milestone I reached all on my own”.
Afra’s ‘hobbies’ list is small but a very active one! After reading and writing, Afra loves to cycle and to swim. She is currently spending her time at home doing daily house chores, watching Netflix and reading. According to Afra, she is not able to manage her time efficiently. The good thing is that she is ultimately able to pull through, in the last minute ;)
When asked about what she thinks of her future, she dreams to be a writer. She is neither ambitious nor unconfident, but “alright” about a living a life as a writer. She wants to reach out to those who need a platform to raise their voice. Afra also thinks that she will be unable to make her dreams come true, but hey, dreams do come true! On the good side, she is always encouraged by her friends.
Having read so many books, it was difficult for Afra to name any one of her favourite books. She finally managed to name one and it was Trevor Noah’s Born A Crime. She has also read the Harry
Potter series FIVE TIMES!
Afra has a very simple but peaceful and effective way of dealing with stress – praying. “The only solution, I ever found after stress-eating and stress-distracting, the only way I found peace is only after an one-on-one session with my God.”
Afra would like to tell her followers to “stay true to yourself, be fierce, and most importantly be kind”.
“I’m not in the position to give advice or ask anyone to spread their wings and fly, because I’m also trying to find my way in life”.
